In 1998 Island daze began with one surfer and a dream. Residing in Indonesia, founder Abe Allouche lived to surf. His calling was found when he realized
board shorts should last longer and cost less. The dream for Island daze was basic: high quality board shorts at a reasonable price. Selling most of his
belongings and living off Top Ramen, he raised enough money for the first production.
From this once humble beginning Island Daze is now manufacturing their products in the same factories as theleading brands in the surfing industry while still maintaining their original concept. Since 1998, Island Daze has developed one of the strongest private label programs and price point short in the industry.
